Amy Runyen used to talk about her in my life drawing class two years ago. I loved her work, but completely forgot her name. On several occasions I have searched for her over the past two years and thennnnn tonight on the shuttle I overheard someone say her name! I am so lucky!!! It is like Freud's work but more grotesque and so beautiful...
omg I love this! I haven't seen a painting I've liked in awhile. And I think it's a good use of the medium. If this was a photograph it would be too smooth and polished. I like how the brushstrokes turn into blood smears themselves and the figure wears a half-smiling face as she lies defeated on the floor. Good find!
